Generation and processor architecture are separate decisions. Pro 11th and 12th Edition include distinct Intel and Snapdragon families; our Laptop 7 reference is Snapdragon, while Laptop 8th Edition includes Intel and Snapdragon variants.
Validate VPN, endpoint security, printers, scanners and specialist software on the exact architecture. Application emulation does not provide a missing device driver. Keep the pilot configuration and results as the rollout baseline.
03 / Record lifecycle and condition
Our earlier Surface generations are refurbished, including every Book and Laptop Studio model in this catalog. Current Pro 12th Edition and Laptop 8th Edition are offered new. The 2025 12-inch Surface Pro is a separate first-edition compact device, not the 12th-generation 13-inch Pro.
Record the serial, RAM, SSD, grade, battery results and warranty provider. Check manufacturer servicing dates separately from Windows support: Book 3 driver and firmware servicing ended April 1, 2025.
04 / Specify the complete desk
The order lists keyboard language, pen, charger, dock, cables, display resolution and refresh rate. Verify charging and multi-display behavior on the exact host.
Record Windows edition and entitlement. For reused devices, confirm the previous organization has removed its deployment and management registrations through the authorized process, then test network-connected setup.
05 / Agree measurable inspection criteria
Use a serialized inspection sheet covering display, touch, keyboard, ports, cameras, wireless and charging. Record battery full-charge capacity and design capacity: 42 Wh divided by 50 Wh gives 84% in the worked example below.
The acceptance threshold is agreed for the order; cosmetic grading, battery criteria and hardware warranty remain separate fields.
