Start with the equipment and custody record
Colocation starts with customer-owned equipment and a named operating boundary. Record the legal owner, serial numbers, rack dimensions, weight, declared value and authorized contacts before shipment. ILION coordinates the installation with the partner facility.
The receiving plan names the delivery window, unloading requirements, inspection procedure and exception record. The installation record then ties each serial number to a rack position, power circuit and network port. Facility access and remote-hands instructions follow an approved contact list.
01 / Identify the site and platform
Our Vancouver and Calgary data centers operate GB300 clusters. Finland and Norway operate H200 and B300; Tokyo operates RTX PRO 6000. Osaka and the Western Canadian Vera Rubin cluster are under construction.
An allocation record specifies the operating site, GPU resources, host memory, storage, access method and term. Construction projects enter service after commissioning and acceptance.
02 / Map every copy of the data
List the primary dataset, local scratch, checkpoints, snapshots and backups. For each, record location, retention, access owner and deletion procedure. Add monitoring and control-plane services that process customer information.
The data map also identifies where support personnel can access the environment. Translate contractual residency and access requirements into controls on each of these paths.
03 / Measure the actual client path
For interactive inference, test from the customer’s network with the intended authentication, request size and concurrency. Capture network delay, queueing and model execution separately where possible.
For training, measure dataset transfer and checkpoint movement. Document routing, ingress, egress and transfer charges in the same deployment record. Region names alone do not establish an end-to-end latency result.
04 / Assign operating responsibility
The operating matrix names the contracting entity, infrastructure owner and customer application owner. Assign access approval, backup operation, incident notification, maintenance windows and change control.
Specify the customer’s control of the environment and the provider’s support boundary. Put availability targets, response times and remedies in the service agreement.
05 / Define the exit procedure
Before service begins, agree the export format, destination, transfer window and responsible parties for returning data and models. Revoke credentials at closure and document the treatment of scratch, snapshots and backups.
Record software entitlements that affect migration. Complete transaction-specific trade and end-use review alongside the allocation decision.
